Karl Schiffmann has been performing professionally as a pianist in the Santa Barbara area since 1980, including the genres of fusion, jazz, blues and salsa.

He co-founded the salsa and son ensemble, Somos Son, which for over fifteen years was the Santa Barbara area's premier salsa band.
